What shall I be Mummy?

We spotted this archaic boardgame from the 1960’s for the 6 and overs. The object of the game is to be the first player to become a Career Girl!
Players move around the board collecting School Cards, Subject Cards and Personality Cards.
Professions and their respective schools are listed as:
Ballet School – Ballet Dancer
Airline Training School – Airline Hostess
College – Teacher
Charm School – Model
Nursing School – Nurse
Drama School – Actress
The game should really have been named – Stereotypes.

Inflatable Russian Tanks

We’ve got a stack of inflatables in the shed here at KidSoup HQ – the statutory paddling pool, two rings (one not working), five armbands and three old lilos from the summer holiday that we always forget to pack when we go on holiday!
But now we’ve discovered the Russian army are also into inflatables. They use lifesize inflatable tanks and rocket launchers to give a show of force to spies in the sky without spending millions on the real thing. Some can even be packed into an army backpack for easy assembly in the field.
If they ever come to Toys R Us we’ll be first in the queue.

You’ve got to love the owners sense of humour. This house is next to Odds Farm, a Kids Farm well worth a visit near to Beaconsfield in the UK. Useless advice of course if you are one of our Californian fans!

We thought it might be a good idea to make some behind the scenes videos to put on KidSoup between releasing new Episodes. Here Anna gives some food fibs and a useful tip for the park.
Okido – filming this week- update
Posted on: April 20, 2009No comments yet
Okido is a cool, intelligent and fun Kids magazine that’s really caught our eye. We wanted to learn more about the brains behind it so we’re off this week to film a video report with the creators. It will be in a future episode of KidSoup. For now here’s the front cover of their latest issue.

What is it about Kids playing with their food? Or should we encourage the artist inside? Turn our back at dinner time for a second and they’ve come up with this! Got a Kid photo or video to share? Please drop us an email:HQ@kidsoup.tv
Photofunia

We’ve had a some fun with one of our Kids pics on Photofunia. You can upload your kids photos and see how they would look up on billboards, in magazines, in galleries without even getting them an agent! Once you’ve made the photo you can save it to your desktop, share it, send a postcard or get a print made.
Monsters Vs Aliens 3D – KidSoup at the movies!
Posted on: April 10, 2009No comments yet
KidSoup went to the movies to see Monsters Vs Aliens 3D. Despite the Kid (6) wanting to see the non 3D version of the film that’s also playing around town (scared of the unknown?) we insisted on seeing the 3D version. Much more fun!
3D is back with a bang and there are quite a few movies filmed in 3D set for release this year – ‘TinTin’, ‘Alive in Wonderland’, ‘How to train your Dragon’ to name three.
We spent the first few minutes ducking out of the way of stuff that is ‘thrown’ at you through the screen to keep you on your toes. The Kids glasses were way too big so think they only saw the film in 2 and a half D (less scary). There ARE spooky and noisy moments throughout the film but nothing that would involve handing over the Kid to be looked after at the Pic’n'Mix so we get to see the ending! Monsters are all fairly cuddly, and Aliens not too nasty either.
Overall it’s a fun film, the 3D is spectacular but the plot and script, though adequate, isn’t as sharp as some of our older favourites like ‘Ratatouille’ or ‘Finding Nemo’. The voice of Hugh Laurie (as Dr.Cockroach Ph.D) is one highlight. We say – go see it. Check out the trailer with your Kid here to get approval first.

We’ve spotted that Johnson’s have come up with a slightly oddball idea of asking parents to film their babes in the bath and submit them to their YouTube site.
Find out how from the lady in the video. With 6 kids we think she could probably use the cash herself!
